Who Will Build the Next Healthcare IKEA?

Dana Corriel, MD, pieces together a light commentary on entrepreneurial ventures, & challenges companies of today to bring in actual health experts to grow quality products.

From/about the article: Behind every successful venture like this lies its ideas, and the eclectic, innovative, and often fun group of peeps who entertained those ideas at their inception. And yes, sometimes even goofballs.

Today, kids, we’re going to look at a behind-the-scenes view of the making of IKEA.

Ok, ok, so it’s not really behind the scenes.

It’s an imaginary behind the scenes, created for quick video consumption and cheap laughs.

But I’d argue that it’s still worth your time. If you give it your ‘just under 3 minute’ attention, I feel like you won’t regret it, or ask for them back. But we’re on the interactive airwaves of social media, so please tag me & let me know your thoughts.

“I’d argue this tik tok, at just under 3 minutes, is well worth your time. Not only for the laughs, but because so much in it represents real life.”

So before we continue into the body of this article (the real meat, the substance), you’ll have to entertain this quick tik-tok.

Did ‘ya watch? Hilarious. Really.

But this video also hits on some clever points that clearly helped IKEA become a household name and successful brand.

We can laugh all we want, but it’s sometimes those really random, out of the box, ideas that can propel a brand.

“We can laugh all we want, but it’s sometimes those really random, out of the box, ideas that can propel a brand.”

Who wouldn’t want to lower costs required for manufacturing, or simplify the tools needed to assemble, in order to lower consumer price tag?

These are not only brilliant ideas, but brilliantly executed, too.

Is it any different to imagine Adam Neumann coming up with the concept for WeWork? Or Jeff Bezos’ Amazon?

I can just picture him talking, at the front of the class:

“Hey, we should sell books. But not like anyone else sells books. We should cut out that physical space that requires so much maintenance and overhead costs.”

Point is?

Behind every successful venture like this lies its ideas, and the eclectic, innovative, and often fun group of peeps who entertained those ideas at their inception. And yes, sometimes even goofballs.

With that, I welcome you to consider bringing in an actual health expert with experience, into your health or healthcare venture.

We’re making it easy, quick, and simple to connect with the physician rockstars of today, to boot, with no pay walls, or any other barriers that would get in an IKEA-equivalent’s way. SoMeDocs is connecting the healthcare-IKEAS of today with the health and healthcare experts who are actually trained and experienced, and -without further ado – you can find the here.
