Dr. Okoroafor is a double board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand surgery and the founder of Niche Hand Surgery and Orthopedics, a private practice in Fairfax, VA. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Washington University in St. Louis, followed by a Hand and Microvascular Surgery fellowship at the University of Washington. She is certified in both Orthopaedic Surgery and Surgery of the Hand by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Alongside a full-time clinical practice, Dr. Okoroafor is active in research, presenting her work nationally and publishing peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters. She is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Association for Hand Surgery, a Consultant Reviewer for the Journal of Hand Surgery, and an orthopedic specialty topic editor for Dynamed.
She created MD Independent to guide physicians through the complexities of starting and growing a private practice. Additionally, she consults for startups, investment firms, and corporations across practice management, healthcare technology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.
