I began writing poems in third grade. I am told I declared I would be a doctor at an even younger age. Although medicine may not leave much room for the humanities, they are inextricably tied. As my journey through the practice of medicine unfolds, I find writing remains an ever important touchstone. My greatest passions are the art of surgery, the therapeutics of writing, my children, and how they intertwine. My thrill is sharing those revelations with the world.
