Trisha K. Paul, MD is a pediatric oncologist in training, a palliative care physician, and a writer. As a narrative medicine expert, she studies the impact of narrative medicine, specifically writing and storytelling, on childhood cancer patients and clinicians. She serves as a Field Notes editor on the editorial board of Intima: Journal of Narrative Medicine and teaches an undergraduate course on Narrative Medicine and Health Inequity at Rhodes College.

She is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Nonfiction through New York University—Writer’s Workshop in Paris. Her writing has been published in Academic MedicineJournal of Graduate Medical EducationIntima: Journal of Narrative Medicine, and more. Her essay Stroppy Sevens was nominated for the 2019 Pushcart Prize. Dr. Paul published the book Chronicling Childhood Cancer: A Collection of Personal Stories by Children and Teens with Cancer and was the Editor-in-Chief of the book iatrogenesis: Essays on Becoming a Physician. Alongside medicine, she loves caring for her little free library, dancing barefoot, and collecting anything made of cork.
