Target Audience: An informative session paired with a cooking demonstration designed for health care professionals to illustrate how to assist patients and families in utilizing plant-predominant dietary patterns to help prevent and manage overweight and obesity.
Learning Objectives:
1) To discuss current evidence regarding the use of plant-predominant dietary patterns for the prevention and management of overweight and/or obesity.
2) To describe what comprises a whole food, plant-based dietary pattern.
3) To provide examples of how a clinician can aid patients in moving towards a more plant-forward way of eating.
4) To demonstrate the online preparation of an easy whole food, plant-based recipe, while providing tips for clinicians on how to use cooking demonstrations to aid patients, families, and/or communities.
