Dr. Cecilia Cruz is an emergency medicine physician with experience addressing both national and international audiences. In the early years of her career her focus was on promoting the highest quality of emergency medical care. Thus, her talks and presentations were primarily centered on various topics related to the practice of emergency medicine.
Currently her focus is on speaking to physicians about how they can bring more joy into their practice of medicine and change the way they engage with the world around them. She is passionate about transforming the culture of medicine through the creation of connection. She sees a world where physicians, who touch the lives of so many, can be active leaders in promoting positivity, empathy, and courage. In her vision, physicians have rediscovered their calling, their passion, and can authentically connect with themselves and their patients. They create partnerships with each other and their patients to bring about whole-self living and health.
Dr. Cruz holds a Masters in Public Health, is a certified professional co-active coach, and has an ACC from the International Coaching Federation. Additionally, she has completed the Positive Intelligence and Mental Fitness training program. She is the founder and principal coach of MARPE, LLC, a Life-Balance and Mental Fitness Coaching company for physicians.
Recently she joined the ranks of Tedx speakers, delivering a Tedx talk at Suny Upstate University in Syracuse entitled, Connection: The antidote to Physician Burnout and Attrition. She has also spoken at the International Rocky Mountain Winter Conference for Emergency Medicine, and her international experience includes a presentation for the faculty and staff of Children’s Kiloufer Hospital in Hydrabad, India.
She is especially good at creating supportive partnerships with physicians in their journey to greater clarity, a stronger sense of purpose, stronger relationships, and higher performance with less stress.
