Trained in psychiatry at the University of Hawai‘i and JPS Health Network after earning his MD from St. George’s University, Dr. Refai later completed an MBA at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business learning the expertise he uses to build scalable, patient-centered digital care models. His career spans inpatient, outpatient, emergency, consultation, and leadership roles, and he is recognized as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
Dr. Refai’s clinical focus includes sports psychiatry and performance mental health; he has consulted for high-profile organizations including the NFL and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He regularly cares for college students, professionals under high stress, women navigating hormonal transitions, and athletes managing pressure, injury, or return-to-play challenges.
