Serena H. Chen MD graduated from Brown University, earned her MD at Duke University School of Medicine and trained in Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She served as Director for the Division of Reproductive Medicine at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center from 2003 to 2024. She is a founding partner and Director of Advocacy at the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science, CCRM NJ and a founding member of the not for profit Doctors for Fertility.
Dr. Chen strongly supports her patients’ right to be informed and involved in their own care. She is passionate about access to treatment for infertility and fertility preservation for all. She is proud, honored and privileged to have played a role in obtaining better access to IVF and egg freezing for the people of NJ. She won the RESOLVE Hope Award for Advocacy in 2020 and the ASRM Arnold P Gold Award in 2024 for this work.
