As the top sleep medicine physician in the Phoenix Valley area, Dr. Ruchir P. Patel is a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, which he followed with a residency in Internal Medicine at Detroit’s Henry Ford Hospital and a fellowship in Sleep Disorders Medicine at Chicago’s Rush University Medical Center.
In 2022, Dr. Ruchir P. Patel became the first sleep physician in the world to pivot and specialize in neuromodulation in sleep medicine focused on the use of hypoglossal nerve stimulation therapy via Inspire® therapy for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and transvenous phrenic nerve stimulation via the remedē® System for central sleep apnea (CSA). He has engaged in significant research and is regarded as a key opinion leader globally in these advanced neuromodulation therapies in sleep medicine. He is internationally renowned with having given lectures to physician audiences in Europe and in Japan regarding these more advanced therapies.
Dr. Ruchir P. Patel is triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine, and Obesity Medicine and also fellowship trained in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy at Duke University Medical Center in 2020 and earned International Certification in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation from Maastrict University in Nederlands in 2022. He developed a special interest in neuromodulation in mental health and other indications including insomnia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and many other indications with having become a specialist in TMS.
In 2022, Dr. Ruchir P. Patel, released a new natural sleep aid, called Sip2Sleep®, after years of trying to find safe, natural alternatives to prescription sleep aids for his patients. He spent over two years formulating the product using two natural ingredients that have clinical evidence revealing improvements in sleep and then conducted his own, IRB-approved, clinical trial in 2023 that revealed greater than 80% of participants reported improvements in sleep initiation, sleep quality, next day alertness, and next day anxiety.
In 2024, Dr. Ruchir P. Patel, launched his own podcast, The Real Sleep Doc, in effort to provide a non-biased, relaxed discussion on all things related to sleep medicine and sleep disorders to help combat the disinformation and misinformation being spread on the media by non-physicians and individuals without any formal training in Sleep Medicine.
