Dr. Jafferany is a leader in the field of psychodermatology with dual training in dermatology and psychiatry. He is the president of the Association for Psychoneurocutaneous Medicine of North America. With over 170 peer reviewed publications in scientific journals, he has made significant contributions to advancing the study and management of conditions that impact skin health and mental health, particularly skin picking, trichotillomania and psychogenic itching. Dr. Jafferany supports his patients through a bio-psycho-social approach,exploring the factors leading to the current problem in the context of family, interpersonal relationships and various other psychosocial stressors using a blend of supportive psychotherapy and medication.
