As a certified physician development coach, MBA and dual-board certified subspecialty physician and private practice owner/founder, Dr. Muller has lived the life of a busy physician, wife, mother and business woman.
In search of the perfect way resolve symptoms of burnout after encountering many intellectually challenging and emotionally draining situations faced as a high risk OB/GYN, Dr. Muller consistently turned to music as her way to decompress from a stressful career in medicine. As a professionally trained flutist (BA Music, 1999), playing music and listening to performances have always been a form of meditation (and MEDICATION) that helped her to relieve stress related to ANY life situation. She wondered if others had similar creative, or “right-brained” outlets to help resolve stress.
In researching the rhetroical question of “what keeps doctors up at night” during her physician coach training at the Physician Coaching Institute (Seattle, WA), she often helped others discover their “right-brained” solutions to burnout in the field of Medicine. This led to the creation of the Right Brain Rounds (RBR) podcast to promote creative solutions to help physicians thrive.
Many interviews in the RBR series feature physician coaches, their stories of resilience, and resources that can be used to help anyone flourish despite pressures experienced in a medical career.
Dr. Muller also reviews the steps of The Ottava Method book which is a self-coaching method she created and wrote to help people achieve goals using musical, business and coaching principles in a stepwise fashion.
