Dr Parry is a veterinarian who is board-certified in anatomic pathology by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP). Since 1997, her career has spanned the clinical practice, academic, corporate, and consulting sectors. In 2019, she received the award of Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). This title represents the highest status of membership of the governing body and is awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to the veterinary profession.
In addition to pathology, she enjoys coaching, mentoring, teaching, collaborative research, and medical writing. She has previously worked with Medscape Education and Medscape News, contributing to dozens of CME programs and more than 200 medical news articles.
Her coaching focuses on high-achieving early- and mid-career professionals in the healthcare, veterinary, and science industries. In particular, she is dedicated to helping introverts who feel burned out and stuck in their careers to reclaim their vision and leverage their inner leader in a way that allows them to rise and thrive in their career.
A passionate educator, Dr Parry has taught and mentored more than 1,000 veterinary students at three veterinary schools in the US and UK, and she has served 5 times as a program director in veterinary pathology training programs. As an avid mentor of 24 years, she has mentored hundreds of students and dozens of veterinary residents, clinical veterinarians, and pathologists.
Dr Parry graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Liverpool in the UK and completed her residency training in anatomic pathology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She has an 18-year record of continued volunteer service in organized veterinary medicine settings, predominantly with the ACVP and American Veterinary Medicine Association, and she currently serves on the ACVP Board of Directors. In 2019, she spearheaded the ACVP’s remote Mentorship Program, which continues to run successfully. Dr Parry is the Director of Pathology at a translational research institute in the Boston region that focuses on preclinical medical device testing.
