Hot Flashes, Brain Fog, and Dryness, Oh My!
In my 25 years of practice as a medical oncologist caring for women with breast and gynecological cancers, I’ve seen firsthand how menopause can impact a woman’s life. I’ve helped countless patients manage their symptoms, make informed decisions about hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and navigate the complexities of breast cancer risk.
My talk will share my knowledge, my experiences, and some practical advice to help women not just survive menopause, but thrive through it.
Target audience: postmenopausal females either with history of cancer or concern of getting cancer.
Learning Objectives:
- Review causes of menopause (natural, surgical, chemically induced)
- Discuss the role of HRT in the treatment of menopause symptoms and risk of developing cancer
- Summarize literature on HRT use in cancer patients.
- Review of non-hormonal treatment options used for menopausal symptoms.
