We now live in an attention economy. Attention is the new currency. If you can’t rise above the noise, you will be left behind.

To become relevant, a voice, an opinion leader, you need to produce content.

That seems hard until you realize you already have a million great things to say, you just have not created a system yet.

Here is a system where you can create hundreds of pieces of content without even thinking. And it only takes about 30 minutes.

 

Here’s how:

 

  1. Open an excel sheet or get out a sheet of paper
  2. Write a list of high level topics. 3 or less
  3. Under each topic, write your beliefs. As many as you have
  4. Across the top, write types of content
  5. When you want to put out content, find a belief, pick a content type, and create something

You will never have to think about what to do again.

You just fill in the blank.

 

Here is how this played out for me, figuring out how to create 245 pieces of content without thinking:

 

  1. I used excel
  2. My high level topics: Healthcare, entrepreneurship and my general experiences
  3. Too many beliefs to list, but one example for healthcare is, “healthcare is actually affordable”
  4. I chose some content types, including: tactics, contrarian views, motivation, my learnings
  5. Anytime I want to create, I just look at the matrix. Or let the spirit move me

 

Here’s one more specific example:

Under the topic, “entrepreneurship” pick the belief, “fear is the only thing holding you back”

Look at the content types and pick tactics.

The post is “here are 5 ways I figured out to overcome my fear of failure.”

Boom. Done.

You are now a content machine.

 

Bonus: Pick the communication medium that feels best to you. If you like to write, write. Speak, then record audio. Love your hairstyle? Video.

The medium is not important. Action and consistency are.
