My Husband is an RN. He Makes More Than I Do as a Primary Care Doctor

IN THIS ARTICLE: How does it feel to be told 'We will find a doctor who is willing to work with the pay bracket'? A doctor vents.

My husband is an RN and he makes more than I do as a primary care doctor.

I’ve tried negotiating my rates to at least match his and I meet a strong push back and am made to feel like a money monger.

I’ve also been turned down for jobs because my ay rate was more than they were willing to pay when “other physicians have not requested that high a fee” and we will find a doctor who is willing to work with the pay bracket.

At the end of the day, I’m still making less as a primary care doctor than my husband who is an RN.

They make it hard for us to advocate for ourselves.
