Mary D Tipton MD, FAAP, FACP

Internist, Pediatrician, Mother of 4

More Below.

Internal Medicine | Pediatrics | Physician

Dr. Tipton finished a double residency in 2006 for Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She headed back to Utah were she attended medical school and joined a private practice in the Salt Lake City area. Within a year she became a partner and spent the next eighteen years building a successful primary care and urgent care practice, with up to 22 providers, 2 locations, covering 3 hospitals and serving thousands of patients. Her patients taught her to be an expert physician, and running the business taught her about the relentless forces in our healthcare system push for profits over patients.

Dr. Tipton started her local and national advocacy work in 2015, learning and teaching others about the need to value primary care, reform our payment system and about the completely broken pharmaceutical pricing and supply systems. She is a fierce advocate for her patients and the sanctity of the physician patient relationship.

In 2024 she left her insurance based practice to open a solo direct primary care practice. Dr. Tipton believes a direct pay model is necessary to correctly align the incentives in healthcare.  We must take out the middlemen to serve patients’ needs and provide health care that is personal, convenient, comprehensive, timely, and transparent.
