I am a board-certified internal medicine, sleep medicine and obesity medicine specialist.
I am originally from Bogota, Colombia but grew up in South Florida since the age of ten. My undergraduate studies were completed at University of Florida where I graduated with summa cum laude designation. Subsequently, I obtained an academic scholarship to attend medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed my Internal Medicine residency at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. I was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2021.
During residency, I realized the benefits of taking a preventative approach to patient care to improve health outcomes. Recognizing the impact of sleep disorders on chronic health conditions and overall quality of life, I pursued a sleep medicine fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA and scored at the 99th percentile in the sleep in-training exam from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Furthermore, I obtained specialized training in Obesity Medicine through the Obesity Medicine Association and obtained board certification by the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2022.
I am committed to helping my patients achieve the healthiest version of themselves and improve their overall well-being and ability to function while preventing chronic illness in the long term.
I am a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Obesity Medicine Association and the American College of Physicians.
In my free time, I enjoy outdoor and indoor cycling, hiking, mountain biking, and spending time in nature with family and friends.
