Dr Maria G Aramburu is a board certified pediatrician and assistant professor. She completed her training in General Pediatrics and a Fellowship in Community Pediatrics at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC in 2012. She has a Masters in public health and is trained in motivational interviewing and pediatric and adolescent mental health management. During her tenure as an Attending physician at MGUH she served as medical director and she trained in trauma informed care, mental health for pediatricians as well as integrative mental health practices. She created an integrated mental health clinic in a school based health center which she directed for 6 years.
Her focus of practice is adolescent mental health as well as the focus of her social media account @pediatricsmom. She aims to empower families to identify, prevent pediatric mental health conditions early and in a trauma informed way. She also advocates for decreased stigma in mental health.
She currently works as medical director of resident and student education for the Division of Adolescent Medicine of the Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pennsylvania.
