It often feels like the beginning of my career. But at the same time, I feel behind. As in, what I do is not enough. That’s my drive. Opportunity to me came in the form of support by hard working lower middle class parents in Puerto Rico. Courage came in the form of role modeling by my mother taking care of my brother with special needs. My calling has narrowed in the form of justice for my pediatric patients with Type 1 diabetes.
