I completed my undergraduate degree at Rutgers University, earned my medical degree from -New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey and completed an internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-University Hospital. I completed my breast surgery fellowship at Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island- Brown University. I started practice in 2001 in St. Louis
I have since been voted one of St Louis Top Docs by my peers every year from 2007 to present. I was selected for an excellence in healthcare award by the St. Louis American newspaper. I continue to be involved in community outreach and education by giving breast cancer presentations to churches and community groups. I am very passionate about breast diseases and especially breast cancer as it affects young women and African American women.
I am board certified in general surgery and a fellow of the American College of surgeons, a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
I am the medical director of community breast health for my hospital system
I am the founder of Ugo bloomaroma- a luxury home fragrance line.
I am the founder and fitness coach for Moving Rings, a wellness group.
I am the author of “Black girls in white coats” available on Amazon
I remain involved in my community by serving on several non profit boards.
I am married to a Psychiatrist and have 2 adult children (an anesthesia resident and acollege student )
I enjoy cooking, reading, writing, entertaining, influencing on Instagram and am an avid runner having participated in several marathons.
