Dr. Cargan chose to leave clinical practice early (after surgery internship) to pursue a non-clinical career because he realized that he had serious issues with both post-grad medical education and with clinical practice itself.
He has spent the last 28 years combining medicine with creativity while working in the pharma advertising world. He’s worked with pharma companies and pharma ad agencies as a contract medical strategist/medical director in a variety of therapeutic areas.
He has supported seven distinct billion-dollar franchises.
Dr. Cargan wants to help physicians reclaim their agency by rethinking the philosophy of altruism that permeates medicine and embracing rational self-interest instead.
