Dr. Ifeoma Oriaku is the founder of Udara Health and is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, sleep medicine, and lifestyle medicine. She cares for adults with sleep and breathing concerns, including insomnia, sleep apnea, unexplained breathlessness, and fatigue. Her interests also include recovery after critical illness and changes in sleep and breathing during menopause.
Working in the ICU and outpatient care has shaped her appreciation for how illness affects a person’s daily life, relationships, and sense of self. She takes time to listen, understand what matters to her patients, and explain the physiology behind their symptoms so they can make informed decisions together.
She founded Udara Health to bring that same approach to consultation and education. Through patient visits, discussions with fellow clinicians, courses, videos, and writing, she shares what she has learned about sleep, breathing, and the body’s capacity to adapt and recover. She is especially drawn to the connections between biochemistry and everyday experiences, such as feeling tired, becoming breathless, or struggling to sleep.
Dr. Oriaku sees education as part of caring for people. She hopes her work helps patients feel more comfortable asking questions and helps patients and clinicians better understand one another. She welcomes speaking engagements, media conversations, and collaborations with others who share an interest in making health information useful and understandable.
