Helen Tanner, MPH, MPAS, PA-C is a clinician executive whose career spans public health, community health leadership, and healthcare program development. Those experiences led her into a founding role at an early-stage healthcare company, where she helped build and scale care models and clinical teams from Seed through Series B while navigating the realities of startup leadership.

She is the founder of The Early Hires, a podcast and community for clinicians navigating startup environments, and the founder of Prescriptive Ink, a healthcare advisory and medical content practice serving startups, health systems, medical education, and clinicians.

Helen’s work has been featured in JAAPA, Doximity, SoMeDocs, and the UT Health Science Center Medical Arts community, where she writes about startups, innovation, and the distinct contributions PAs bring to family medicine.

Helen speaks on clinicians in the startup space, including business fluency, leadership inside early-stage companies, and the case for teaching innovation and business skills earlier in medical and clinical training.

Her speaking experience includes engagements with the Alzheimer’s Association, the Virginia Governor’s Conference on Aging, the University of Richmond’s Continuing Education program, and guest lectures at the Randolph-Macon PA Program, drawn from her earlier work in geriatric primary care and community health.
