Family Medicine Board Certified physician practicing Functional Medicine. My approach is an adjunct to traditional medicine using prescriptions, nutraceuticals and lifestyle changes for patients to improve their health and well-being.
I have a career-long history of being recognized by third parties for consistently meeting or exceeding clinical quality care measures for value-based care. As a result, I was awarded the William J. “Terry” Kane, MD Award for Excellence in Clinical Family Medicine, Duke Family Medicine Residency, which is presented to one graduating resident for excellence in clinical family medicine. Additionally I achieved Premium Care Physician status with multiple insurance companies. This is the highest level of status designation and includes quality and cost efficiency assessments, with quality as the primary measure.
After becoming more and more disenchanted with our current healthcare system, I took the plunge in early 2018 and left private practice to pursue additional training in Functional Medicine. I became certified with the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2020, as well as opening my own practice that same year. This fulfills my goal of combining traditional and holistic approaches to healing, and is something I have envisioned doing since the early 90’s.
