Physician-owned private practice seeking second full-time BE/BC MFM for our practice located in Anchorage, Alaska.

Aurora Maternal-Fetal Medicine (AMFM) is an independent private, physician-owned practice seeking a second full-time BE/BC MFM for our practice located in Anchorage, Alaska. The ideal candidate, MD/DO, will have completed an ABOG or AOA approved fellowship in Maternal and Fetal Medicine and be board certified (or eligible) by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology or by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Opportunities for long-term locum tenens coverage opportunities are also available.

AMFM provides high-risk OB consultation to several hospitals within the state, including three hosptials in the Anchorage area with one of these hospitals housing the states’s only Level III NICU. This is a strictly consultative and co-management position without primary deliveries.

About the Position:

· Opportunity to collaborate and network with a variety of clinicians across all major subspecialties (NICU, pediatric subspecialties, OB/GYN physicians, Family Medicine physicians practicing obstetrics, certified nurse midwives and lay midwives).

· Full scope-consultation practice including preconception counseling, genetic counseling (most provided by physician, but contracted genetic counselor is available for more detailed consultation if needed), diabetic management and counseling, management of high-conditions (preeclampsia, preterm labor, cervical insufficiency, complex maternal medical problems) and prenatal diagnosis.

· Position will give the physician an opportunity to travel throughout Alaska to work in rural locations (two office locations located in southcentral Alaska), practice telemedicine consultations and travel to outlying locations to serve patients in the state.

· Competitive compensation model, which includes base salary with bonus potential based on production and quality metrics

· Opportunities to create your own research projects with the support of the University of Alaska system and State of Alaska.

· Perform detailed ultrasounds, fetal echocardiograms, amniocentesis and cerclage procedures.

· Echocardigoram certified sonographers perform studies with accessibilty to pediatric cardiology services within the state to guide care when anomalies are discovered.

· Practice is affiliated with medical schools and actively involved with teaching medical students, sonographer students, and local residents.

· Private practice is a member of the ENVOY clinically integrated network. This is a physician-owned, physician-led network that helps independent practices provide high-quality care at a high value to patients and providers.

· Weekend and holiday call coverage is shared with a collegial local community MFM call group in Alaska.

· Genetic counseling provided to patients via telemedicine with contracted counseling company.

· Support staff includes office manager, in-house biller/coder, medical assistants, echocardiogram certified perinatal sonographers, and emotional support dog (for patients and staff).

Compensation/Benefits:

· Professional liability insurance and assistance with mandatory hospital credentialing and state licensing.

Requirements:

· Medical degree/diploma

· Residency/fellowship certification

· Alaska medical license or license eligible

· Fetal echocardiogram experience preferred

· Procedural experience with amniocentesis and cerclage expected.

· CVS experience preferred, but not required.

· Credentials to practice at all outlying hospitals where consultation services are provided is expected.
