Eva Mackey, MD was born in Austin, Texas. Much of her childhood was spent abroad with her mother but when not traveling she was in Austin. She did her undergraduate degree at St. Edward’s University in Austin and moved to Galveston to attend medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Eva did her residency at St. Anthony’s Family Medicine Residency in Denver, CO and has received her board certification in Family Medicine.
Dr. Eva has been practicing Family Medicine in the Rockwall/Rowlett/Garland/Mesquite area for the past 20 years. Prior to opening her own practice, she worked for the Baylor Family Health Center of Mesquite. Dr. Eva’s dream is to provide high quality primary care that focuses on the needs of the patient and eliminates the bureaucratic hassles that plague our healthcare system. Dr. Eva strongly believes that quality care should be affordable and accessible to all patients regardless of their insurance status. She left Baylor in 2017 to pursue her dream and opened Gem MD.
Dr. Eva enjoys cycling, running, skiing and crochet. She also loves to spend time with her three wonderful kids. Dr. Eva volunteers for the International Cultic Studies Association (ICSA) where she helps individuals who have escaped from cults heal from the damaging effects of group psychological abuse.
