For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the interplay of science and spirituality. I hold a degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame and I am a practicing Radiation Oncologist. I enjoy teaching mindfulness because it is accessible to anyone, regardless of religious beliefs, or lack thereof. Oncology professionals, patients and caregivers face a unique set of circumstances where they are confronted with the reality of suffering and mortality on a regular basis. Mindfulness allows people to connect with their deeper self, by using the power of the present moment, acceptance and nonjudgment to prompt a hopeful attitude and restored wellbeing.
