I’m a Board-Certified Pediatrician with over 25 years of experience providing family-centered, evidence-based care. My mission is to advance personalized, compassionate medicine while integrating digital health innovation in ways that enhance, never replace, the human connection in healthcare.
After earning my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completing residency at Holtz Children’s Hospital, I began my career in community pediatrics, caring for South Florida’s most underserved children. That foundation shaped my lasting commitment to health equity, empathy, and clinical excellence.
In 2008, I transitioned to private practice, deepening my focus on preventive medicine and continuity of care. The pandemic accelerated my use of telehealth and digital tools, sparking my passion for AI integration to improve physician efficiency and patient experience.
In 2018, I began DrVCares, a digital platform providing free, evidence-based relatable pediatric education and resources for families.
My background in psychobiology, has always guided my approach to medicine. In 2021, I became a Certified Health Coach to better understand human behavior and motivation for change, allowing me to guide families not just medically, but through the psychology of decision-making and wellness.
In 2024, I launched DrVCares Pediatrics, a concierge pediatric practice that blends personalized medicine with digital innovation. I use AI tools to streamline communication, improve documentation, and deliver timely education and support. It gives me time to focus on developing trust and relationships. The practice emphasizes continuity, convenience, and accessibility for working families and new mothers.
That same year, I joined Doximity as a Digital Health Fellow/Advisor, contributing to the design and implementation of AI tools for physicians. My roles include:

Through this work, I help bridge clinical expertise with digital innovation, shaping AI solutions for use in healthcare.
I am also Peer Reviewer for AiCME, helping to ensure continuing medical education remains high-quality, and unbiased.
