Emergency Medicine | Physician

I am a Clinical Professor of Emergency Physician, Singer-Songwriter, Poet, and teacher. For years I straddled the world between Science and Art until I finally realized that they are intimately connected and that this can be taught.  I have been published in Annals of Emergency Medicine, JAMA, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and numerous online sites.  I love teaching the importance of integrating art, writing, or music into medical education, and the importance of narrative in the therapeutic relationship.
