Dympna Lynch Weil, MD

OBGYN, Master Coach, Writer

About

My name is Dympna Lynch Weil.  I am a human, a doctor, wife, mother, daughter, friend, creator, connector, writer, Master Coach & Irish dancer.

Yup, like in Riverdance ; ) In fact, I’m a certified Irish dance teacher.

And I am a Board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist with a long standing interest in physician wellness, most recently in clinical practice as an OBGYN Hospitalist, with experience in academics teaching students & residents and in private practice as well.

I did all the things right. Got the grades, went to NYU, Scholars Program, Early Acceptance to NYU Med… Matched in OBGYN, won teaching awards, Was the Chief Resident, etc… Heck – in OBGYN we are constantly putting out fires.  We stay pretty calm in the midst of chaos.

But. Nothing could prepare me for the tsunami of changes that accompanied the pandemic – culminating with my own health conditions which forced me out of work indefinitely. Me?  Not on L&D?

In fact, it forced me into stillness from 100 miles an hour. And from that place of uncertainty, coaching was what helped to profoundly re-chart the course of my life.  I went on to certify as a Wayfinder Life coach and further trained with Martha Beck and completed Master Coach training with her in November 2022.

Now, part of my mission and fulfillment is serving others, especially my colleagues in medicine by sharing the power of coaching tools with other high achieving, self-flagellating, professional-multitasking people (know anyone?)
