The Speaker

Panel Discussion: What if I Told You That Direct Surgical Care Saved My Practice?
Demetrio J. Aguila III MD FACS (moderator) is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology, specializing in peripheral nerve surgery and the surgical management of acute and chronic pain, as well as general plastic, reconstructive, and microsurgery and general otolaryngology. As a peripheral nerve surgeon, Dr. Aguila is one of the only surgeons world-wide to offer micro-invasive carpal tunnel surgery and micro-invasive trigger finger surgery with real-time ultrasound guidance, allowing patients to return to work the same day, without restrictions. A former US Air Force combat flight surgeon, Dr. Aguila served in 46 states and 31 countries.

Grace Torres-Hodges, DPM, MBA is passionate about the Direct Care movement as it saved her from giving up on a profession that she respected and was so honored to serve in. Her mission these days is to first serve my patients and secondly educate others on how to save the individual physician private practice. Dr. Torres-Hodges is a board certified podiatric physician and surgeon who started Torres Hodges Podiatry, in 2001 and transitioned to a 100% direct care specialty practice in 2017. She went into medicine to treat patients, and believes that anything that gets between doctors and their ability to do that for their patient is part of the problem. She also co-founded D2PMedicus Consulting, to educate and coach physicians as they change their perspectives and transition out of a broken healthcare system.

Daniel Paull, MD, is the Founder and CEO of Easy Orthopedics, America’s first mobile cash based orthopedic practice. I do not believe in insurance companies or hospital systems, so I effectively removed them from my practice. The goal is to disrupt disrupt disrupt.
