Alopi Patel, MD

Alopi Patel, M.D. is a dual board certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine physician. Her pain practice focuses on women’s health including pelvic pain, fibromyalgia, migraines and more. Dr. Patel practices in NYC and is actively engaged in clinical research, academic leadership positions and advocacy in the field of anesthesiology. She has presented at national conferences and continues to give lectures within her institution as well as conferences on topics in the field of pain medicine and anesthesiology.

In March 2021, Dr. Patel and Dr. Meera Kirpekar launched their podcast, The Hurt by The Female Pain Docs. They discuss topics in the fields of anesthesiology, pain medicine and lifestyle medicine with a focus on women’s health topics including pelvic pain, pain in pregnancy, labor analgesia, sexual dysfunction, transgender medicine and more. As a physician podcaster, she has also become an advocate for the effective use of social media by physicians. Dr. Patel and Dr. Kirpekar have given several joint grand rounds on the use of social media to departments in academic institutions.

Meera Kirpekar, MD

Meera Kirpekar, M.D. is a dual board certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine physician. Her pain practice focuses on women’s health and women’s pain with a focus on pelvic pain, particularly interventional techniques for pelvic pain. Dr. Kirpekar practices in NYC and is actively engaged in clinical research including serving on the board of a prominent pain journal, advocacy in the field of anesthesiology, and resident and fellow education. She continues to present at national conferences and gives lectures within her institution in the field of pain medicine and anesthesiology.
