I burned out from medicine. Repeatedly. At the time, I didn’t know it was burnout. I just thought that I just wasn’t good enough as a doctor, mom and wife. That’s a heavy burden to carry.
When I started coaching, I noticed my relationships changing: first with my mother and mother-in-law, then with my body, my family and ultimately, work. The shifts occurred as I learned that there wasn’t anything wrong with me. It’s that I got to focus on what is right with me and build a stronger relationship with myself first.
That’s what I help others do. I have two coaching programs:
- I help physicians create a life that they don’t need a break from. We cut straight to the root of the problems of work-life balance, stress, and not enough time. We focus on discovering strengths, values and your goals and using them to create the life that you love more and more every day.
- I founded Family in Focus, the only program specializing in helping parents who are worried about their family’s weight. I work with parents to understand the stresses around raising a healthy family, the challenges that we have faced with our own food and body, and create healthy relationships with food, body and family. Ultimately, relationships are the key to health. And we parents are blessed to be in the perfect place to understand what our kids are experiencing and become the parent that they need right now.
