Be More YOU for a Healthier Life. I help physicians create a life they don’t need a break from.

What I Do As A Coach

I burned out from medicine. Repeatedly. At the time, I didn’t know it was burnout. I just thought that I just wasn’t good enough as a doctor, mom and wife. That’s a heavy burden to carry.

When I started coaching, I noticed my relationships changing: first with my mother and mother-in-law, then with my body, my family and ultimately, work. The shifts occurred as I learned that there wasn’t anything wrong with me. It’s that I got to focus on what is right with me and build a stronger relationship with myself first.

That’s what I help others do. I have two coaching programs:

  1. I help physicians create a life that they don’t need a break from. We cut straight to the root of the problems of work-life balance, stress, and not enough time. We focus on discovering strengths, values and your goals and using them to create the life that you love more and more every day.
  2. I founded Family in Focus, the only program specializing in helping parents who are worried about their family’s weight. I work with parents to understand the stresses around raising a healthy family, the challenges that we have faced with our own food and body, and create healthy relationships with food, body and family. Ultimately, relationships are the key to health. And we parents are blessed to be in the perfect place to understand what our kids are experiencing and become the parent that they need right now.

Topics I Specialize In

Parents:

Why the worry about weight; Why medical recommendations haven’t worked; Relationships; Control, Kids, and Weight; Emotional Eating, Motivation, Motivating kids to move, Mental health and weight, feeding styles, Stress, Comfort eating, Distraction, Boredom, Food rules, Health at Every Size, Generational Beliefs, Intuitive Eating, Division of Responsibility in Feeding, Biochemistry of hunger and weight, normal growth and development, experimentation, using curiosity, parenting presence, the power of play, autonomy, being the expert in your own family, Focus on what you want, Body image, Bullying, Self-love, Self-confidence, Compassion, Advocacy

My Ideal Client

Parent: A parent who is worried about their family’s weight and understands that helping their children create healthy relationships with food and body means doing the work and modeling those relationships ourselves. A parent who rejects diet culture and wants to build health as a lifelong, healthy relationship. Physician: A physician who is stressed with the demands of work, patients, family and not enjoying this life that they worked so hard to create. You know there’s a different way: let’s unleash what you really want to create the life you look forward to every day.

What Client Success Looks Like to Me:

Success looks like creating healthy relationships with food, body, family and whatever is most meaningful to you. It means letting go of what you don't control and using what you do control to make this one precious life the one you love more and more every day. Parents: Success looks like creating healthy relationships with your food, body and family that you want to share with your whole family, for life. Success is feeling calm and confident as you have a plan for your family's health. Physicians: Success looks like embracing who you really are to create a life that you don't need a break from.
