Dr. Charu Ramanathan is a serial healthcare entrepreneur and inventor who transforms deep science into high-impact clinical technologies. With over two decades of experience in medtech, digital health, and AI, she develops solutions that advance equity, access, and measurable outcomes across healthcare.
She is the Co-founder and CEO of Vitalxchange, a digital health platform that supports early childhood behavioral and developmental health through AI-driven, parent-led interventions. Designed to complement pediatric care, the platform engages families outside the clinic—helping them act early during critical windows of development, often while waiting for access to specialty services. Vitalxchange offers physicians a practical way to support families between visits—without increasing clinical workload.
Dr. Ramanathan also serves as Co-founder and Chairman of Lokyata Inc., a fintech company promoting financial inclusion through ethical AI, and as an advisor to Carelog, an AI ECG startup advancing cardiovascular diagnostics.
Previously, she co-founded CardioInsight Technologies, where she served as President and Chief Scientific Officer. As the co-inventor of its noninvasive cardiac mapping system—developed during her PhD at Case Western Reserve University—she led the company through global clinical adoption across 15+ countries and its eventual acquisition by Medtronic.
She holds more than 35 patents and has received multiple honors, including Crain’s 40 Under 40, the TiE Immigrant Entrepreneur Award, and the American Red Cross Hero Award. Her work has been featured in national forums, including a U.S. Senate panel on the care economy and women’s leadership in innovation.
Dr. Ramanathan combines technical expertise, strategic vision, and frontline clinical insight to build human-centered, scalable solutions. She is particularly passionate about global health impact and reimagining care delivery through technology that works for both families and providers. Charu welcomes collaboration with clinicians, researchers, and systems leaders who share her commitment to early action and equity.
