Character Development for Novelists

Madi Sinha, MD will be lecturing on character development for novelists, covering the creation of a story-worthy hero, and more.

(This lecture is part of our Writers Conference For Healthcare Professionals)

Target Audience: aspiring novelists, any genre

Topics will include:

  • creating a story-worthy hero
  • what makes a compelling character
  • creating a character flaw
  • developing internal and external conflict for your character
  • tying your main character/hero to the arc of the story you want to tell

The talk will include clips from popular movies/books illustrating different main characters and dissecting (can’t help the medial pun!) their features and what makes them 1) compelling for readers/viewers and 2) the perfect fit for the story being told.
