About the Coach

An ‘Accidental Leader’ who found herself having to learn leadership skills through the school of hard knocks, Asha Padmanabhan is a soft-spoken introvert, an immigrant brown woman and a Board Certified Anesthesiologist who currently serves in several leadership roles including Medical Director of Anesthesiology, Secretary of the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists and Vice Chair of the Committee on Women Anesthesiologists for the American Society of Anesthesiologists. She is passionate about empowering and encouraging women physicians to step into leadership in their hospitals and communities and has founded several networking groups for women physicians. She hosts the podcast “The Leadership Rx for Women Physicians” where she explores the challenges women face in leadership and how to overcome them through conversations with women physician leaders. Dealing with Imposter thoughts and not considering herself a ‘Leader’ even after several years of being in a titled leadership position, she turned to coaching. Being coached flipped a switch in her brain and allowed her to embrace her unique strengths and become a Confident Leader. Realizing that, just like her, many women physicians doubted themselves and their leadership skills and seeing the difference Coaching made in her professional and personal life, she chose to train as a Coach herself and coach women physicians to embrace their leader self. In her free time, she loves sunrises on the beach, reading fiction, traveling with her family and exploring different cultures and cuisines.
