Amy Capoocia, DO FACOFP (Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians) graduated from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003 and completed her residency in Family Medicine at St Joseph’s Medical Center in Reading, PA as Co-Chief Resident in 2006. Dr Capoocia has 20 years of direct patient experience. She practiced in Spring Hill Florida for a total of 16 years while teaching medical and nursing students under a Medicare Advantage value based care model. Most recently she has moved and opened Ludwig’s Village Family Medicine, LLC direct care practice in Glenmoore, PA. (http://www.ludwigsfamilymedicine.com)
With the help of her supportive spouse, she is able to juggle a medical career and raise a family. Dr. Capoocia is mother to 5 children and has been married to Gary over 22 years.
While medicine is her passion, community health is her joy.
She was a volunteer physician and Board member at Crescent Community Free Clinic since 2009, and has been a board member and community liaison for the Dawn Center Domestic Violence center for over 10 years.
She completed a Health Policy Fellowship (HPF) with American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) and is continuing studies with the HPF post graduate course. Dr Capoocia is an active member of the Federal and Legislative Committee for ACOFP
She also teaches a yearly procedural medicine course with the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and AAFP via DPC Alliance.
Dr Capoocia achieved her black belt in Shotokan Karate in 2021.
