Dr. Alina Olteanu is the founder of “Whole Child Texas”, a pediatric integrative and functional medicine practice in Frisco, Texas. She is board-certified in pediatrics and in integrative and holistic medicine. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina, in Chapel Hill. She did her pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas and received her medical degree from the University of Medicine in Romania. Dr Olteanu worked as a Pediatrics AIDS Corps pediatrician in Lesotho, Africa, where she worked closely with the ministry of health to develop a malnutrition treatment protocol and received several grants to improve the lives of mothers in a pediatric hospital ward, by building a family room for moms. Dr Olteanu was a faculty member at Tulane University, in New Orleans, after the Katrina Hurricane. She was the medical director of a pediatric mobile clinic and mental health unit. She was also the section chief of the Community Pediatrics and Global Health section at Tulane University and received local and national awards for her work with underserved children in New Orleans and Haiti; the “Woman of the Year Award” by the New Orleans City Business Magazine and the “Local Heroes Award” by the American Academy of Pediatrics. She received multiple grants that supported the mobile clinic program and the section of Community Pediatrics and Global Health.

Dr Olteanu graduated from two fellowships, in Integrative Medicine and Integrative Psychiatry. She is a meditation instructor certified by the Chopra Center and attended many meditation workshops around the world, in Hawaii, Mexico, India, and Japan.

Dr Olteanu is the founder of the “Dr Alina Olteanu Foundation for Extraordinary Young People”, a nonprofit organization that supports talented young artists and healers to build a better world for themselves and future generations.

Her passion is teaching parents and children about preventing chronic conditions through a healthy lifestyle, nutrition, and stress management. She authored two books, a cook book and a meditation book. 

She has extensive knowledge about herbs, supplements, homeopathy, aromatherapy, functional medicine, energy medicine, mind-body medicine, Ayurveda, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, which she practices in combination with western medicine. She believes in treating the whole child, spirit-body-brain. Dr. Alina Olteanu has a special interest in nutrition, autism, ADHD, anxiety, and neurodivergent children. Her main purpose as a pediatrician is preventing adult chronic conditions by  helping parents raise healthy children.
