Adhya Ramganesh is a driven pre-medical student at Boston University who aspires to become a surgical oncologist. She is a medical sciences major with a minor in public health. She has had years of experience working with cancer patients, and it changed her life forever. It started with her own mother who is a survivor of Stage 1 thyroid cancer. Adhya Ramganesh is also a survivor of depression. She is an advocate for mental health and she hopes to incorporate mental health into her journey as a future surgeon and member of the medical community. Her goal in medicine is to increase accessibility to surgical procedures for the underserved populations in medicine, especially in relation to oncology. Adhya also has a hope to become an avid writer as narrative medicine is one of her interests in medicine. She hopes to write about patient stories and mental health in a way that reduces the stigma around the realities of healthcare.
